Windows 10 keyboard shortcuts
(W8 is different)
First the most important. Then the list. Then the rest. Many seem to have been included just to use all the letters of the keyboard.
My top 10 list
1. winkey alone: opens or closes start menu
2. winkey + a: opens action center
6. winkey + d: minimizes all windows
7. winkey + e: opens windows explorer — at Quick Access
10. winkey + m: minimizes all windows
12. winkey + q: opens quick search panel
Now the list
1. winkey alone: opens/closes start menu
2. winkey + a: opens action center
3. winkey + b: opens first icon in notification area
Often this does nothing. Usually, opens the hidden icons in the > section of your bar.
4. winkey + ctrl + b: message in notification area
5. winkey + c: opens Cortana, or subtitles in YouTube
Sometimes.
6. winkey + d: minimizes all windows
7. winkey + e: opens Windows Explorer — at Quick Access
13. winkey + x: opens list of useful features, including control panel
Sometimes.
8. winkey + g: opens the game bar
9. winkey + k: opens Connection panel
10. winkey + m: minimizes all windows
See winkey+d. Seems to do the same thing.
11. winkey + shift + m: restores last minimized window
Or so it says.
12. winkey + q: opens quick search panel
13. winkey + x: opens list of useful features, including control panel
I use this a lot since I discovered it.
Others
winkey + f: opens Feedback Hub
winkey + ctrl + f: opens Find Computer window
winkey + l: Locks computer
winkey + o: Locks orientation
winkey + p: sends screen to projector
winkey + r: opens run dialogue box
winkey + t: runs through the icons on the taskbar
Now that is useful.
winkey + u: opens the utility/settings manager
winkey + w: opens windows ink workspace (if you have it)
winkey + y: opens Yahoo Messenger (if installed)
